How MaxForce™ Hurricane Screens Work
A Track That Holds On.
The edge of the screen runs inside a self-adjusting, spring-tensioned track. When wind pushes on the fabric, the springs take up the movement, so the screen stays in the track. The motor also stops if it hits something on the way down, so a chair left in the opening doesn’t turn into a service call.
No Zipper. No Cable. Just Simple Deployment
A keder is a rope-like bead sewn along the edge of the fabric. Sailmakers use the same idea to hold a sail in its track. The bead rides inside the MaxForce™ track, so there’s no zipper to split and no cable to fray.
The Weight Bar
The heavy-duty weight bar at the bottom pulls the fabric tight as it comes down and keeps it tight once it’s closed. A tight screen moves less in the wind, and that helps keep it in the track.
Reinforced Corners
The corners of the weight bar are reinforced and tie into the track, so the bottom of the screen locks in as one piece when it’s down. The corner parts are made from high-strength nylon.

STEP ONE:
Choose Your Fabric Color...
MaxForce™ uses OmegaTex hurricane fabric from Twitchell, which is woven with DuPont™ Kevlar® core yarns. During a storm, that fabric is what protects your patio. On a normal day it works like a regular screen. You can see out and air comes through, and it blocks up to 91% of the sun’s UV rays while keeping bugs and dust off your lanai. There are six colors to choose from: Black, Black/Tan, White, White/Tan, Granite and Bronze. Darker colors are usually easier to see through from inside, and lighter colors blend in with light-colored homes.
STEP TWO:
Choose Your Frame Color.
The frame is the part of the screen you see every day, including the housing at the top, the side tracks and the end caps. MaxForce™ frames are powder-coated aluminum and come in white, beige, bronze and black. White and bronze are available in gloss or a textured finish, while beige and black come textured. Most homeowners match the frame to their window trim or the color of the lanai frame. If none of the standard colors work, the frame can be custom painted to match your home.
STEP THREE:
Choose Your Controls.
Every MaxForce™ screen is motorized, so raising and lowering it takes the push of a button. Motors are available from Fenetex, Somfy, Gaposa and Simu, and each one comes with a handheld remote like the one shown here. There’s also a solar-powered Gaposa motor for openings where running power is difficult. Depending on the motor, your screens can also be set up to work with a phone app or a smart home system, and your dealer can tell you which options fit your home.

Is there a warranty?
MaxForce screens carry a limited manufacturer's warranty from Fenetex against manufacturing defects, with coverage that varies by component. Aluminum, proprietary components, and welded seams are covered for the life of the system — for as long as the system or compatible systems remain in production and parts are available. Motors and operators are covered for 5 years. Hurricane fabric carries a 10-year UV-stability warranty. Paint finishes are covered for 5 years when installed more than a mile from the coast, and 3 years within a mile of the coast. The warranty applies to the original owner and is not transferable.
